Professor Zomaya consulted on the following topics: computer architecture and embedded systems, Internet solutions and computer networks, scientific computation, operations research, and process control. Overall, his interests lie in the wide area of Information and Communication Technologies and many of its related applications. 

Professor Zomaya has been involved in a number of IT ventures. His general interest in the area of IT has given him the capability in utilizing his background to serve IT-intensive organizations by, for example, critically evaluating and independently examining functional parameters of existing and up-coming computing and communications related technologies (both hardware and software) and even recommending improvements (where appropriate). This also applies to all electronic componentary on board computers from PCs to high performance computers including peripherals.
